Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
With every case it's imperative that communication between client and attorney is kept open but with S.J. v. Salt Lake City, communication was the turning point in the case. S.J had hired four other attorneys who frankly didn't listen to the client but we were able to get the case dismissed.
How did you build a successful practice?
Successful communication has been the key to building my practice, my clients know that they can reach me at any time and I am always open to hearing from them.
What should clients look for in a lawyer?
Clients should look for someone who is going to empower them to ask questions. My goal is to have every one of my clients feel comfortable with me and my staff so that they know exactly what is going on with their case.
How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?
It's very important to know local rules and customs with other attorneys, it can be the difference between winning and losing a case.
What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?
Most of my consultations are in person because I like to see documents or photos involving the case but those can email for review as we discuss the case over the phone.
What information do you need in a free phone consultation?
It depends on the type of case but typically the more information the better.
What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?
Our firm's mission from the top to the bottom is to make sure our client's feel comfortable and know that we are available to them when they need us.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
The most rewarding part of my job is being there for my clients and seeing the relief on their faces when they know someone is going to advocate for them.
What are your other interests in addition to law?
I love sports, especially University of Utah football.
Are you involved in your community?
I coach little league baseball, basketball, and football. I'm also involved with the modest means program through the state bar.
