About Mackenzie
Litigation associate Mackenzie Coy drafts complaints, motions, oppositions, discovery, and correspondence to opposing counsel. She also handles new client intakes and conducts case file and legal research. Ms. Coy, an Indiana native, recently served as a Judicial Law Clerk in the D.C. Superior Court (2007-2008) where she drafted Orders, summarized pleadings, conducted legal research, and managed the Judge's civil and criminal dockets. She also was a 2006 summer law clerk at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).
Ms. Coy, whose Maryland Bar admission is pending, earned her J.D. degree in 2007 from Howard University School of Law where she served as an officer of the American Constitution Society (ACS) and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). At Indiana State University, Ms. Coy had a double major in political science legal studies and African/African American studies, minored in women's studies, and graduated with an Honors B.A. degree, cum laude, in 2004. She also studied law and business at the University of the Western Cape and law and politics at the Institute for Democracy for South Africa in Cape Town, South Africa in 2005.
